Two other local powerlifters took part in worlds at WinSport

Back Alley Fitness members weren’t the only ones from Medicine Hat at the 100 per cent Raw Powerlifting world championships this past weekend.

Melanie Perron of Gas City CrossFit and Terra MacKeigan (gym unknown) also took part in the competition at WinSport in Calgary.

Perron placed third in the 90-plus kilogram division. She set national records in her 40-44 age division, squatting 152.5 kg and bench pressing 77.5.

MacKeigan was sixth among the 60-kg class, her squat of 110 tied for second.

Nine Back Alley members competed, seven of them in the Raw championships and two in the World Powerlifting championships which were held at the same venue.
