Cubs’ home opener postponed due to poor weather

By Medicine Hat News on September 30, 2019.

The Medicine Hat Cubs will have to wait to show off the newly updated Kinplex after poor weather conditions forced the team to postpone Sunday’s Heritage Junior Hockey League home opener against the Lomond Lakers.

Cubs general manager Dave Kowalchuk said he will have more information regarding a make-up date today.

The Cubs entered the weekend sitting 1-1-0 after picking up a 6-4 victory over the Flyers Friday in High River.

Medicine Hat’s next scheduled game is Saturday against the Wheatland Kings in Strathmore. The Cubs are set to return home to the Kinplex for a 2:15 p.m. matinee game Sunday against the rival Coaldale Copperheads.
