Monarchs go 1-4 at Spokane event

By Medicine Hat News on July 10, 2019.

Medicine Hat’s Moose Monarchs only managed one win at the Wood Bat Classic in Spokane this past weekend, but their time south of the border isn’t over yet.

The AA American Legion baseball team is in Bozeman today and tomorrow to play league games against the Bucks.

They beat Spokane’s Shadle Park team 3-2 Friday, getting the winning run on a clutch RBI single from Wyatt Bergen in the seventh inning.

But momentum was hard to come by after that. They were mercy ruled, 11-1 by the Idaho Cubs in five innings Saturday, then lost 8-2 to the Spokane Expos after being down 6-0 through two frames.

Sunday got even worse, the Monarchs unable to score a run in a pair of 8-0 losses to St. Albert’s Cardinals and the Apple Valley Packers.
