Redcliff’s Sarah Mickey earned a gold and a silver medal at a track and field competition in Arizona this past weekend. Mickey, 20, won the F55 discus at the Desert Challenge in Tempe, Ariz. with a throw of 19.76 metre. She was second in F56 javelin with a 12.70 metre throw. Paralyzed in high school due to the effects of Lyme disease, Mickey played sledge hockey for a while but has found even more success in track and field.
