Vikings rout Falcons in three frames

The Crescent Heights Vikings completed a commanding 16-1 victory over the Foothills Falcons in three innings on Wednesday night at Jeffries Park.

Cale Ferguson led the way from both the box and the hill, holding Foremost to one run on two hits with nine strikeouts through three frames as the starting pitcher, then driving in 3 RBI with a 2-for-4 performance at the plate.

Terek Hieb followed up Ferguson’s efforts with 3 RBI in a 1-for-3 outing, while Dylan Fauth was 1-for-3 with 2 RBI from the leadoff slot.

The victory pushes the Vikings to a perfect 7-0 on the Southern Alberta High School Baseball League season. They’ll wrap up the regular season tonight in Maple Creek against the Red Sox.

In other games Wednesday, the Hat High Tier 2 Mohawks beat Erle Rivers 7-1 and Hat High’s varsity team beat Brooks 11-3. Payton Eddy struck out 14 for the Tier 2 Mohawks.
