Sun Devils split weekend

By Medicine Hat News on May 13, 2019.

The Medicine Hat Sun Devils picked up another weekend split, this time taking a 7-3 win from the West Kootenay Timberwolves before falling 14-3 to the Sylvan Lake Yetti on Saturday in Castlegar.

The split leaves the Sun Devils sitting at 2-4 on the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League Tier 2 junior B season.

Noah Weimer had two goals and two assists to lead the Hat offence in their win over the Tier 3 Timberwolves. Captain Aidan McLean added two goals and one assist, Izaak Loran added a pair of tallies and Ethan Sewall had an individual marker. Noah Loran added two assists in the win.

The Sun Devils were unable to repeat the feat when they met up with the Tier 2 Yetti that evening. While Noah Weimer scored twice and Tegan Rogal added another, there was no stopping the Yetti Saturday thanks to an eight-goal performance out of Kien Bowen.

Zachary Daniels and Adam Sylvester both added two goals and two assists for Sylvan Lake in the victory.

The Sun Devils return to the Moose Recreation Centre to host the Calgary Sabrecats and Rockyview Rage on Saturday and Sunday, respectively.
