The Medicine Hat-based Stingerz cheerleading club wound up their last competition in Canada this season, an important qualifier given where they’re headed in a month’s time.

The club’s open Killerz team took a first-place banner home from the All-Star Cheer Extravaganza in Edmonton, capping off a successful two-week span.

A night after the Stingerz’ mini Aussie Beez team took a first-place finish at the Extravaganza, their Royal Beez had no deductions in their tiny novice division, then their Bumblez youth team took fifth, their junior Honeyz fourth and their senior Queen Beez third at the massive event.

The junior and senior teams had been in Vancouver a week earlier where they were also fourth and third, respectively.

While the Edmonton event was the last of the competitions for most teams, the Killerz aren’t done yet. They’re headed to Mexico for an international competition in May.
