AMAC’s Vetter makes a final

By Medicine Hat News on April 16, 2019.

Medicine Hat swimmer Delrae Vetter made a final at the Western Canadian Championships in Edmonton this past weekend, part of a half-dozen athletes from the Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club.

Vetter, in the 13 – to 15-year-old age group, touched the wall in a rare tie for sixth place in the girls 400 metre freestyle. Her time of 4:34.54 was about 14 seconds back of the winner, Edmonton’s Emma O’Croinin, but a personal best according to statistics from Swimming Canada.

Vetter was also ninth in the 1,500 metre freestyle and 11th in the 800 free. She also competed in the 100 and 200 free plus the 200 and 400 metre individual medley.

As for other Marlins, Emily Schlenker, Kristin Hollingworth, Parker Maxwell, Ashton Scholly and Jaiden Riddell also competed though none were able to get to a final at westerns.
