The midget AA Hounds are one win away from a spot in the provincial final. Medicine Hat’s boys posted a dominant 8-1 win over the host Edmonton Canadian Athletic Club Friday afternoon, improving to 2-0 in the five-team round robin with two games left to play Saturday. If they can beat either St. Albert or Camrose they’ll be in a top-two position and play for gold Sunday. After scoring in the first minute of their first game, the Hounds needed a bit longer to jump in front against CAC. Austin Klimosko scored the first of his two goals 5:39 into the first, then Jacob Milne added a power play marker late in the frame. Levi Schlosser, Cam Hall, Carson Dingwall and Brandon Kasdorf also scored, while Milne added a second. Kasdorf added three assists. Nate Hoffman nearly made it two shutouts for two different Hat goalies, turning aside 13 shots while his team poured 50 on the opposing net. 7
