Stroh snaps tie game with five to win win Medicine Hat women’s bonspiel

A count of five in the seventh end gave the Holly Stroh foursome the A event championship with a 9-4 win Sunday in the annual Medicine Hat women’s bonspiel.

Stroh and her rink defeated the Jackie Schell team, in the final. It was tied 4-4 after six ends until Stroh’s count of five in the seventh. The curlers then shook hands.

The B event went to a rink skipped by Desiree McLeod, who defeated the Strathmore foursome of Cindy Schakelton by a 7-3 score.

In the C event, it was Andrea Wilson’s team coming out on top, beating Lorraine Hilgendorf’s quartet 7-1.

Curling is wrapping up at the Medicne Hat Curling Club, with the Oilmen’s bonspiel concluding the season this Friday through Sunday.
