Colts to play for bronze at girls basketball provincial championship

The McCoy Colts will play for bronze Saturday after falling 84-60 to the WR Myers Rebels on Friday at the Alberta School Athletics Association 3A girls basketball championship. McCoy opened their tournament with a 65-48 win over Morinville Thursday. They’ll meet up with St. Peter the Apostle School to play for bronze Saturday at 2:30 p.m. Over at Jasper Place High School, the Hat High Mohawks boys basketball team closed out their season with a win and a loss on Friday in the 4A basketball championships. Hat High was dealt an opening 93-79 loss to Bishop O’Byrne before bouncing back with an 85-76 victory over Foothill Saturday morning to advance in the consolation bracket, but they were unable to punch their ticket to the consolation final with a 98-93 loss to the Raymond Comets Friday evening. 5-4
