Cheer squads in Lethbridge

Medicine Hat’s Ultimate Cheer Fusion and Stingerz cheerleading clubs registered a handful of medal results at the Imagine Cheer and Dance Championship in Lethbridge this past weekend.

UCF’s top results included their Blast youth team (8-11-year-olds) taking second in a six-team division and the Sparkle tiny novice (up to 6-year-olds) finishing second in a five-team group.

The Vortex senior team (18-under) finished second in a two-team division, while Glow (5-8) was fifth in a six-team group.

UCF had three individuals also medal. Georgia Potter was third in her youth Level 2, Tessa Wissler was second in her youth Level 3 and Charlee Routly was third in youth Level 3.

As for the Stingerz, their tiny novice team known as the Royals took first place. Their tiny prep squad Auzzie Beez were second out of five. In youth, the Bumblez placed third out of three. And in junior the Honey Beez were third out of four.

A special moment came for the Orchids special abilities team, which was awarded a first-place banner and got a standing ovation.

Stingerz individuals won two divisions and two of their pairs earned second-place honours.
