A half-dozen Bulldogs Track and Field Club athletes were in action this past weekend, ramping up to the homestretch of the indoor season.

At Edmonton for the Golden Bear Open, Bulldogs laid down personal bests in nearly all of their events.

Renae Ryan had bests in each of the five under-20 pentathlon events she competed in, plus a second-place finish in the open 200 metres. Kiana Farrel was fifth in under-18 200 metres. Dustin Morris had PB’s in his 200, 300 and long jump in the under-18 division, while under-20 distance runner Jack Bjarnason had bests in all three races he entered (600, 1,000 and 1,500 metre).

Madison Kane-Rissling, entered in the tougher open category, had a top finish of eighth in high jump.

Meanwhile in Utah for the BYU High School Invitational, Maxwell Archibald had bests in the 200 metre and long jump. In a field of 176 he was 72nd in 60 metre, 46th in 200 and was 10th out of 47 long jumpers.

Alberta’s indoor provincials are set for Feb. 16 and 17 in Edmonton.
