Marlins swimmers medal in both Edmonton and Calgary

The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club had swimmers medal at meets in both Edmonton and Calgary this past weekend.

At the JP Fiset Invitational in Edmonton, 13-year-old Ashton Scholly won the 50 metre backstroke, was second in the 50 freestyle and third in the 100 back.

Delrae Vetter took silver in her 14-year-old age group’s 400 metre individual medley, plus bronze in both the 200 IM and 400 freestyle.

Kristin Hollingworth, 12, was second in 100 free and third in 200 free. And 14-year-old Jaiden Riddell was second in 50 back.

Eleven other Marlins went to the meet, while 30 were in Calgary for the UCSC Winter Classic.

Evan Ma led a medal haul that totalled 29 for AMAC, taking home seven medals himself. The 12-year-old won two gold, three silver and two bronze.

Hunter Skrove, 11, won two silver and four bronze. Ethan Rochon (12) earned three silver and two bronze, Albany Mastel (12) a gold, two silver and three bronze, and Abby Begin (10) two gold, two silver and a bronze.

Other medallists included Elizabeth Bowey (11) with a gold and a silver, and Avery Whenham with a bronze.
