The Medicine Hat Travelodge Cubs felt the highs and lows of the Heritage Junior Hockey League this weekend.

After running away with a 13-0 victory over the Thrashers on Saturday in Three Hills, the Cubs fell victim to a humbling 9-0 loss at the hands of the Okotoks Bisons Sunday.

Cooper Hilworth led the Cubs with five goals in Saturday’s victory over the Thrashers, while Noah Irvine had two goals and four assists, Chandler Aleman and Desmond Crawford both potted one and added three helpers, Joshua Schafer had four assists, Grant Forbes struck twice and added an apple and Mackenzie Fritzler scored once and added a pair of assists.

Brett Vanderveer stopped 19 to collect Saturday’s shutout victory.

Thrashers starter Devon Carroll was pulled after allowing 10 goals on 52 shots. Conner Dixon stopped 21-of-24 in relief.

The up-and-down weekend leaves Medicine Hat at 8-11-2 on the season.
