Earls unbeaten early in men’s indoor soccer

The Earl Phantoms held onto their place atop the Medicine Hat Senior Men’s Indoor Soccer League standings with a 6-4 victory over the Rattlers Athletic Soccer Club on Tuesday night at the Family Leisure Centre.

Brendan Lutz powered the offence with a five-goal performance while Blair Lukacs added another one for good measure to help extend Earls’ undefeated start to five games at 3-0-2.

Tristan Milne scored twice for RASC, while Sloan Dykema and Rhayl Gray both added individual markers in the loss — leaving the Rattlers at 0-3-1.

The Ralston Rovers kept on Earls’ heels with a 4-3 victory over the Alleycat Angels Tuesday night.

Dan McNeil potted a pair while Jack Morgan and Jason Burns tacked on to secure the victory and keep Ralston within one win of first place at 2-1-2.

Connor Ismond scored twice for the Angels and Colton Pacheco added an individual marker. The Angels slipped to 1-4-0 with the loss.

The league will be hosting a tournament at the Family Leisure Centre this weekend, starting Friday with games at 7 p.m. and 8 p.m.

The action continues Saturday and Sunday, with the championship game at 9 p.m.
