Game-by-game improvement was the story for Medicine Hat’s open C ringette team this past weekend in Lethbridge.

Playing in the Chinook Ringette Tournament, the Kruse Glass Force opened with a tie, then took a couple losses before finishing with a win in Sunday’s bronze medal game.

After falling 4-3 to the Calgary Bandits in their last round robin game Saturday, the Force got a rematch in the third-place game and made it count in a 4-2 victory. Paige Ully’s hat trick led the way while Courtney Stock also scored.

Kennedy Wilson had all three goals in the first matchup against the Bandits. In other games, Medicine Hat tied Calgary FSU 1-1 Friday in a goaltending duel between Keon Clift of the Force and Kelcie Wilson of FSU. And Lethbridge Vegas beat Medicine Hat 7-4 on Saturday.

Under-16

Two days, four wins. It was a busy weekend for the under-16 Mud Hens, but a productive one.

On Saturday the Hens beat the Bow View Blazers 4-3 and 7-5 in Rolling Hills. Ashlyn Seale had three goals on the day to lead the offence.

Sunday saw the Hens in Calgary, playing two different teams. They beat the under-14 AA Blue 12-2, with Amanda Robinson notching four goals, then got by South Calgary Strike 8-5 with two more from Seale.

Next game action for the Hens is Nov. 30, as they begin the annual Ed Horvath Interprovincial Classic on home ice.

Under-14

At Airdrie Sunday, the under-14 Charge had a hard time beating the home team’s goaltender in losses of 7-2 and 7-4.

Pacie Harper, Kamryn Reid and Kylee Waldegger each scored two goals on the day, but the team fell to 2-3-1 in league play.

Under-12

The first win of the season for the under-12 Surge came on their busiest weekend to date.

On Saturday in Calgary the Hat team beat Bow View Force 6-5. Grace Ammann, Bella Heinreichs, Jordy Provost, Hayley Grad, Jaida Waldagger, and Mackenzie Tindall all scored and Kyree Stern-Rebmann got the win in net just hours after stopping 38 rings in a 5-1 loss to South Calgary Strike.

The long weekend continued Sunday with two more games. They lost 9-3 to Northwest Calgary Riot, getting goals from Grade, Provost and Ryleigh Jackiw. And they finished with a great effort, tying Northwest Calgary Atomic 4-4 thanks to a last-minute goal from Waldagger. Grad, Provost and Kasey Martin had the other goals.

Under-10

The under-10 Eliminators were denied time and time again in a couple games in Airdrie Saturday.

They lost 3-0 in the first game and 10-2 in the second. Leighton Wright and Margo Kerr had the goals and the team was proud of the positive attitudes and sportsmanship displayed.
