Two Medicine Hat Boxing Club members picked up wins in Leduc Saturday night.

Tristan Deveau beat Edmonton’s White Nganika by unanimous decision in a 152-pound bout, part of the preliminary card at the Legion Legacy Cup.

Then it was Janick Lacroix’s turn. The national champion beat San Diego’s Mariano Flores in a 165-pound open class, the latest on a long line of victories.

“The American was very strong, tough kid, took a lot of huge body shots and very tight defensively but Janick pressured him for three rounds to get the well deserved win,” wrote coach Kerry Fahlman.

Both Deveau and Lacroix are gearing up for the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer which start Feb. 19. They’ll both be on Alberta’s team and are planning a busy winter’s worth of action to be ready for it.

Next up is a card in Milk River Dec. 1.
