The South East Athletic Club Tigers bantam AAAs will be kicking off the hockey season by giving back to their community on Saturday afternoon at Hockey Hounds Arena.

The Tigers will be collecting donated supplies for the local women’s shelter prior to dropping the puck against the Calgary Northstar Sabres at 2:15 p.m.

The team is asking the community to pitch items such as men’s and women’s toiletries, toilet paper, teenage boy items and cash donations.

The Tigers opened the season with a 1-1 split on the road last weekend, defeating the Airdrie Extreme Saturday by a 5-1 margin and dropping a 4-2 contest to the Red Deer Rebels Sunday. All seven of Medicine Hat’s goals came from different players, while Matthew MacPherson led the team with three points over the weekend.
