Rain shortened the weekend of racing at the Medicine Hat Drag Strip, but not before plenty of winners were decided.

With the Southern Alberta Fastest Streetcar Shootout taking place, that was the main event to get finished Sunday. Russell Flaman took first, beating out Medicine Hat’s Toby Thomson in the final.

Friday is usually the street car showdown and Bow Island’s Nick Kregel took the regular class win ahead of Medicine Hat’s Brendan Ashby.

Also Friday, Keith Easton of Medicine Hat won the bike division ahead of Calgary’s Wayne Keim.

Isaac Stettner won the junior street car division both Saturday and Sunday, with Justus Schaan the runner-up both times.

On Saturday a full slate of winners were announced. Kiandra Gaetz won junior thunder (with Morgan Caron second), Kassidy Simmons won junior lightning (with Zachery Gaetz runner-up). Brayden Benko took the sportsman class ahead of Kathie Archambault. Tyler Zeller was the pro champion, edging Randy Koop, while Rick Wagenaar won the super pro class ahead of Lee Lyons.
