Calvin and Tracy Heller came up against some new blood in Saturday’s Medicine Hat Tennis Club Mixed Doubles Open final, but even they were no match for the husband and wife duo.

The Hellers clinched a 6-3, 7-6 victory over Cory Streifel and Kassie Bourassa to clinch their fourth consecutive title at the event and their fifth overall to bring an end to the season under the lights.

Bourassa and Streifel did all they could to keep the match alive and force a third and deciding set, but they came up on the wrong end of second-set tiebreaker and were force to settle for runners up.

In the consolation bracket, another husband and wife duo in Reina and Justin Schibler defeated Carla and Mark Thorogood in a rousing three-set title match.

After dropping the second set, the Schiblers rallied back to clinch a 6-4, 4-6, 6-4 victory.

Dawn Olson and Messele Fentabil teamed up to defeat Roberta and Lydell Wenzel in straight sets for the intermediate division title.

In the consolation bracket, it was Lily and Gary Laurent who came out on top over Margaret Klok and Noel Thomas with a hard-fought straight sets victory, 6-3, 7-5.
