The Medicine Hat Tigers paid for their misdeeds on Friday at Mosaic Place.

While 15-year-old centre Cole Sillinger scored his fourth of the pre-season to put the Tabbies up 2-1 midway through the second period, the Moose Jaw Warriors responded with four unanswered goals — including three on the power play — to skate away with a 5-2 victory.

Warriors winger Peyton McKenzie kicked off the scoring with six minutes left in the first period, but Tigers alternate captain Bryan Lockner quickly answered back to leave the game even after 20 minutes.

Sillinger followed up with his fourth goal in three exhibition contests before a march to the penalty box opened the door for Moose Jaw.

Ryan Peckford and Drae Gardiner scored on consecutive power play chances with Sillinger and Daniel Baker serving penalties, then Tate Popple tacked on with an even strength marker to leave Medicine Hat down by a pair entering the third period.

Peckford cashed in on another power play chance after an early elbowing call to Lockner, leaving the Warrior special teams unit at 4-for-8 on the night.

Daemon Hunt had three assists for Moose Jaw.

Lockner finished with two points for Medicine Hat.

Tigers goaltender Mads S¿gaard stopped 31 shots in the loss, while Moose Jaw’s Adam Evanoff collected the victory on 23 saves.

The Tigers and Warriors close out a home-and-home set Saturday at the sold-out Irvine Sports Complex. The puck drops at 7:30 p.m.
