A pair of Medicine Hat golfers were in the hunt at the Maple Leaf Junior Tour’s event in Swift Current over the weekend.

Sixteen-year-old Nolan Burzminski pushed Lethbridge’s Rylie Seaman for two full rounds, finishing with rounds of 71 and 77 on the par-71, 6,386-yard layout at Elmwood Golf Course. Seaman won with a two-day score of 4-over 146, two shots better, and needed an eagle on the 14th hole Sunday to fend off the challenge.

Two other locals were in the mix for the juvenile boys division, with the Hat’s Sam Bratvold finishing seventh (81-79-160) and Redcliff’s Brady DeBoice 14th (86-84-170).

In the older junior division, Medicine Hat’s Caleb Kinch was third, putting up rounds of 73 and 78 off the same tees as the juveniles. Saskatoon’s Steven Duchscher won with rounds of 68 and 73.
