Dovichak leads Bulldogs with three medals at Masters

Jayel Dovichak led the Medicine Hat Bulldogs Track Club to a strong weekend at the Masters Championships after taking home a silver and two bronze medals from the Calgary meet.

Dovichak took home silver in the midget high jump and bronze in the 300-metre dash and 80-metre hurdles, but Dovichak wasn’t the only Bulldog to take home some hardware over the weekend.

Navarra Houldin took home a pair of gold medals in the para wheelchair racing event, topping the podium in the 200- and 400-metre races, while Justina Renke earned bronze in the midget javelin, Kiana Farrel took bronze in the youth 400-metre hurdles, Gage Reinhart took bronze in the youth 400-metre hurdles and Morgan Hale settled for fourth in the 400-metre dash, as well as the 800- and 1,500-metre.

On top of earning some individual medals, Dovichak, Farrel, Reinke, Reinhart, Hale, Tegen Nielsen, Elic Ayomanor, Cody These and Nova Pender were also selected to represent Alberta at the Western Canadian Tri-Prov Championships in Sherwood Park, July 27-29.
