Plenty of competition at mixed doubles tourney

Lauren Danroth and Trevor Riddell combined to clinch the Medicine Hat Mixed Doubles Tennis Tournament title on Saturday at the Medicine Hat Tennis Club.

Danroth and Riddell clinched the championship with a straight sets victory over Kristen Norris and Craig Weich in the Open final.

Eryn Comeau and Ryan Comeau took the Open consolation title with an 8-5 victory over Reina Schibler and Jordan Schibler.

In the Intermediate Division, it was Wai-Cheng Pretzlaw and Lyle Garrecht who came through with the big victory after defeating Nicole Hall and James Thorogood by an 8-3 margin.

Lily Laurent and Gary Laurent took the Intermediate consolation crown after winning a 7-5, 1-6, 7-6 battle against Susan Jacques and Noel Thomas.
