Medicine Hat swimmers combined for a trio of medals at the Alberta Summer Championships in Calgary this past weekend.

The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club’s Nick Jones won the para 100 metre breaststroke. The 14-year-old athlete was also ninth in both his 50 and 100 metre freestyle swims, presumably not para-designated.

Ashton Scholly won silver in 50 metre backstroke, plus got to the final of the 200 backstroke and 100 freestyle, edged out for a medal in the 200 to take fourth and sixth in the 100.

Kristin Hollingworth won bronze in the 100 metre butterfly and also made a couple finals. She was seventh in the 200 free and sixth in the 200 individual medley.

Other Marlin swimmers to make finals were Aspen Fetch (eighth, 200 breaststroke) and Jocelyn MacPhail (eighth, 100 fly). Samantha Hunt, Maria Pachan, Emily Schlenker, Delrae Vetter, Berlin Mastel, Brandt Swaren and Kaitlin Skrove also represented AMAC.

Two of three Medicine Hat Waves entrants made finals, led by 12-year-old Jaivyn Barabe who was fourth in the 200 metre breaststroke, fifth in the 50 breast and sixth in the 100 breast.

Jaiden Riddell, 14, was sixth in the 50 metre backstroke while Anna Nozewski, 18, had her best finish in the 100 metre breaststroke (15th).
