Sun Devils set to open playoffs at home

After closing out the Rocky Mountain Lacrosse League Tier 2 junior B season with an 11-7 record, the Medicine Hat Sun Devils are set to defend their home floor in the first round against the Calgary Axemen.

The action kicks off Saturday, July 7 when the Sun Devils welcome the Axemen to the Kinplex for Game 1 of their best-of-three opening round series at 5 p.m.

The series picks back up for a potential doubleheader at the Kinplex Sunday, July 8 starting at 11 a.m.

If necessary, the series will be decided in a Game 3 “mini game,” set for immediately after Game 2 at 1:10 p.m.

Sun Devils forward ZachWilson enters the playoffs after leading both his team and the RMLLwith 62 goals and 98 points in just 13 games, while Aidan McLean sits close behind with 46 goals and 37 assists.

Justin McAdam led the Axemen with 33 goals and 29 assists in eight games this season.

Medicine Hat won the season series, 2-1.
