Medicine Hat Tigers centre Ryan Chyzowski may not have heard his name called at the NHL entry draft this weekend, but he’ll still be getting a shot to turn some heads at the big-league level this summer.

The 18-year-old Kamloops product was invited to attend development camp with the Western Conference champion Vegas Golden Knights after finishing the season with 21 goals and 31 assists and sitting 95th among North American skaters in NHL Central Scouting Services’ rankings.

No Tigers were selected at the draft. In fact only 20 of the 217 players chosen at the draft played last season in the Western Hockey League and 13 of the 31 chosen in the first round played in either the WHL, Ontario Hockey League or Quebec Major Junior Hockey League.
