Fighters from a handful of countries weren’t tough enough to stop Medicine Hat’s Janick Lacroix.

Last week the Hat boxer flew to Vegas for the annual Roy Jones Jr. Tournament, which hosts fighters from all over the U.S., Mexico, Chile, Finland and Puerto Rico.

After he got a bye into the final Lacroix defeated Jose Ibarra from Shafter, California in the 165-pound open final.

According to Medicine Hat Boxing Club coach Kerry Fahlman, it was a tough fight, with Ibarra being one of the top fighters from the U.S.

Lacroix lost the first round and took a couple of big shots in the second round, but was able to put it together in the third to hold on for the title.
