Stark, Tudor share Colts MVP honours

Hannah Stark and Spencer Tudor took home the top hardware in Tuesday’s Monsignor McCoy High School athletics award at Medicine Hat Lodge.

The pair of seniors shared the Brad Jackle Memorial Award as the McCoy Colts female and male athletes of the year while each taking home the title of most valuable player in varsity basketball.

Tudor also shared the track and field senior outstanding athlete award with Madison-Kane Rissling.

Cavan Kolody was named the senior boys volleyball most valuable player, while Carley Doneff earned the MVP honours for the senior girls squad.

Chayce Davies was named most valuable football player of the year and Koby Laychuk-May earned rookie of the year honours.

Ethan Boutkan took home the MVP award in baseball, while Joel Herron was named rookie of the year. Reese Bourassa and Makayla Clarke split the softball MVP title.

Zoe Wickstrom took home the cross-country MVP award and Caleb Kinch earned the MVP nod in golf. Kaden Meier was named the most dedicated badminton player this season, while Kurt Olarte earned the most improved award and Evan Gunn took home rookie of the year.

Brooklyn Shafer and Cristopher Mendez were named McCoy’s junior varsity girls and boys MVPs, respectively. Thorin Cherniak was named junior varsity volleyball MVP, while Shane Fowlie and Kennedy Lanigan shared the girls MVP title.
