Midget Sun Devils sweep through tournament in Sylvan Lake

Medicine Hat News Medicine Hat’s midget Sun Devils lacrosse team won a tournament in Sylvan Lake this past weekend. The Devils went 4-0, including a 7-5 championship final win over the host Buccaneers Sunday. Trailing 3-2 through two periods, Medicine Hat got two third-period goals each from Quinn Canadine and Ethan Machan, the eventual game-winner coming from Zachary McBride with 6:19 to play. They downed Red Deer 13-4 to start the weekend, led by three goals from Machan. Against the host team in the round robin, Machan had two more in an 8-3 win. Netminder Lincoln Koberinski got the rare shutout in a 6-0 semifinal blanking of Didsbury Sunday morning in which Ty Moore scored three, Lyndon Milnthorpe two and McBride the other. 7-6
