Salta Gymnastics members were in Airdrie this past weekend for the Gymnastics on the Edge competition, and proved they belong with the province’s best at the right time of year.

Olivia Chenard and Kristen Friesen finished 1-2 in the Level 6 all-around for their age group, each finishing with three podium spots in individual events.

Ria Thacker, also a Level 6 athlete, was third all-around in her older age group.

Level 4 athletes combined for 13 medals, highlighted by silver all-around finishes for Aubri Krassman and Daniele Hollingworth in their respective age groups. Emma Flug and Kipp Stevens were third and fourth, respectively behind Krassman while Mariah Robson was fifth all-around in an older age group.

Salta took not one, not two, but three top all-around finishes in the Level 3 groups. Jenna Schubert won an individual medal of each colour en route to her all-around gold. Makayla Van Leeuwen and Gemma Snazel each had two individual gold and medals on every apparatus in taking top spots in their respective age groups too. Jorja Lundquist had a silver on vault and Devyn Crane was four in both beam and floor to round out the Level 3 results.

Next up for Salta is zones, then with any luck provincials.
