The Alberta Marlin Aquatic Club cleaned house at the Lethbridge Amateur Swim Club Winter Classic this weekend.

Twelve swimmers combined for 38 individual medals before making it an even 40 with a pair of relay medals. What’s more, 13-year-old Delrae Vetter punched her ticket to the Canadian Western Championships in Victoria this April in both the 100-metre and 400-metre freestyle events while gathering four gold medals in the pool.

But Vetter isn’t the only member of her team who will be heading to Victoria, as 15-year-olds Emily Schlenker and Brandt Swaren have also qualified to represent AMAC at the four-province event. Schlenker finished her weekend in Lethbridge with two gold and two silver, while Swaren took home three silver and two bronze.

Thirteen-year-old Ashton Scholly picked up two gold and three silver medals at the event, while Munro Maxwell took home four gold and a silver, Parker Maxwell added two gold, two silver and two bronze, Berlin Mastel won two gold, one silver and two bonze and Kaitlin Skrove collected two gold and two bronze.

Schlenker, Swaren, Parker Maxwell and Samantha Hunt combined to win gold 200-metre freestyle relay and the 200-metre medley.

Seventeen AMAC swimmers will make the trip to Calgary on Feb. 24 and 25 for the Southern Alberta Provincials at Repsol Sport Centre.
