Annual Ag Bonspiel a hit for locals

The Medicine Hat Curling Club held its annual Ag Bonspiel last week.

The event welcomed 32 teams in different divisions duking it out on the rink, with five coming away as this year’s champions.

This year’s winner of the A event sponsored was the Kevin Aberle team.

The final match was tied up after seven ends of play, then Aberle drew to the four foot for the victory with last rock.

His team took down the Graham Heidinger team.

The B event was taken by the Jeff Bodin squad with a decisive win 8-3 over Laidlaw 1.

Teaming up with Bodin were Shea Jackson, Liz Unrau and Bruce Stuber.

The C event saw Larry Brown defeat Western Tractor by a score of 8-7.

Playing with Larry were Daryl Hubich, Warren Schafer and Ray Bosomworth.

The D event went to the Harvey Moch squad with a 7-5 victory over the Sid McCurdy rink

The E event went to the Laidlaw 2 team, who defeated Glen Nunweiler’s team by a score of 6-4.
