Bowlers from across Southern Alberta will converge on Panorama Lanes this weekend looking for a place on a provincial 5-pin roster.

The Canadian Open Southern Alberta zone qualifiers will feature more than 40 bowlers from Medicine Hat, Taber, Lethbridge, Pincher Creek and beyond, but only the best will punch their ticket to the Canadian 5-Pin Open at the end of March.

Reigning national silver medallist and Medicine Hat product Mike Christmann will be back in search of another trip to the Canadian Open, and this time it will take place at Panorama Lanes from March 28 to 30.

Spots will be available on the men’s, ladies and mixed teams, while the top three individual bowlers will qualify as singles.

Qualifying action gets underway at 11 a.m. on Saturday, followed by championship play Sunday at 10 a.m.
