The Medicine Hat Cubs were able to snap a five-game losing skid Saturday with a win on the road.

Traveling to Three Hills after losing five of six games in November, the Cubs were looking to get back on track, and to improve on their 6-11 record.

The Cubs managed to pull out a 5-2 victory over the Three Hills Thrashers Saturday.

Medicine Hat helped their own cause by scoring two short-handed goals in the game, and one power-play marker.

Mackenzie Fritzler, Bailey Taylor and Chasen McKenna scored, while Noah Irvine added two of his own in the win.

Josh Breznik played the full 60 minutes for the Cubs, stopping 32 of 33 pucks fired his way.

Joshua Schafer and Cody Riehl added two assists each on the night.

The Cubs then played host the Airdrie Sunday evening at the Kinplex.

With a 2-2 tie going into the third period, the Lightning were able to score four, downing the Cubs 6-2.
