The Medicine Hat Tigers will set their sights on their first three-game winning streak of the year when they welcome the Moose Jaw Warriors to the Canalta Centre tonight at 7:30 p.m.

The Tigers are riding high after increasing their record to 8-4-0-0 on the year with back-to-back wins on Tuesday and Wednesday, and centre Ryan Chyzowski says a lot of the success relates directly to the team’s play as a group of five.

“We’ve just had the mindset of following the structure, working hard and constantly moving our feet,” said Chyzowski, who has combined for 17 points over the past four games alongside linemates Tyler Preziuso and Ryan Jevne. “My line has been clicking pretty good.”

Medicine Hat’s first round bantam pick from 2015, Chyzowski has started his sophomore year on a torrid pace. The 17-year-old Kamloops product is well on his way to a career year as well with six goals — one more than last year’s total —and five assists — two shy of last year’s total — in just a dozen games.

But the Moose Jaw Warriors have been off to a hot start of their own. The team sits atop the East Division and fourth in the Canadian Hockey League’s top 10 weekly standings after opening their season on a 10-4-0-0 tear — but they’re coming off an 8-4 loss to the Tri-City Americans Wednesday.

Former Lethbridge Hurricanes forward Brayden Burke leads the Warriors in scoring with six goals and 15 assists for 21 points through his first 14 games.

The Tigers make the trip to Swift Current to take on the red-hot Broncos (9-1-1-0) Saturday night.
