Murphy to manage Mavs in 2018

Medicine Hat News The Medicine Hat Mavericks have named Andrew Murphy as the new field manager for the 2018 Western Major Baseball League season. Murphy spent last season as first base and assistant coach to Michael Thompson, but with Thompson’s departure in the off-season, Murphy earned a place as the team’s skipper. Assistant general manager and pitching coach Kyle Swannack will also return to the team this season. The Mavericks finished last season with a 27-21 record before falling to the Edmonton Prospects in the second round of the playoffs. 6-5
