A pair of local female hockey players are making their mark at the bantam AAA level.

Matayah Metz and Kinlee Fahselt have been making the trip down Highway 3 to Lethbridge to compete after cracking the Lethbridge Cyclones roster last month.

The duo helped their team to a second-place finish at the Calgary Firestarter AAA Tournament in September. Metz kicked off the tournament with a game-winning goal in a 2-1 comeback victory over Calgary White before adding another marker in a 4-1 win over the Red Deer Chiefs before finishing the tournament with three points. Fahselt collected a 2-0 record with a 1.00 goals against average after defeating Calgary White and the Peace Country Storm, 6-1.

The Cyclones punched their ticket to the final with the 3-0 start to the tournament, but ultimately settled for silver in a 1-0 loss to Calgary Red.
