Medicine Hat Rattlers golfer Matthaus Taylor will look to pick up where he left off when he steps onto the tee box at Desert Blume this weekend for the Alberta Colleges Athletics Conference South Regional.

Taylor split the victory with MacEwan’s Josh Gorieu at the North Regional last weekend in Camrose, shooting a 77-71-148. Now he’ll have a shot to secure the top spot on home turf before next weekend’s ACAC championships at Edmonton’s Red Tail Landing Golf Club. Taylor’s teammate Braden Schacher will look to climb the leaderboard at Desert Blume after taking 12 last weekend in Camrose.

On the women’s side, Medicine Hat’s Nicole Schultz will aim for the podium after taking fifth in the individual stroke play last weekend, while Sierra Zukowski will look to improve on her seventh place finish in Camrose.

The 36-hole tournament begins Saturday morning and closes Sunday.

Desert Blume will also be the site for the 2018 Canadian Collegiate Athletics Association Championship, as Medicine Hat College was recently approved to host the 72-hole event next October.
