Benoy fifth in high hump at Legion track nationals

Medicine Hat’s Lewis Benoy brought back a fifth-place finish from the National Legion Track and Field Championships in Brandon, Man. earlier this month.

The 17-year-old cleared 1.86 metres in the high jump, his first try at the height, but went out at 1.91 metres. The winner, Winnipeg’s John Olukoju, cleared two metres.

It was Benoy’s second time at the meet, along with Bulldogs coach Sean Freeman.
