LES ERIC NICKERSON April 4th, 1952 December 13th, 2024 Les (Leslie) Eric Nickerson of Medicine Hat, AB passed away on December 13th, 2024, at the age of 72 years.
He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Lindsay Comeau (Brian Lensen), Lealand, Tammy Rosenau (Mark), Nicole Ranger (Neil); grandkids, Shyanne Magnus (Taylor), Brayden Ranger, Rhianna Robson, Ethan Comeau, Robert Ranger, Adam Ranger, Dexton Comeau; great granddaughter, Hensley Magnus; siblings, Richard (Joyce), Sterling (Cheryl), Keith (Donna), Laura Cranton (Wayne), Bentley (Stephanie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews; extended family, Carol Kopec, Materi (Bill Kaleta), Gary Schaan (Angie), Tim Hammel and Patty Simpson; last but not least, fur baby, Gizmo.
Les was predeceased by his wife, Betty; mother, Harriet; father, Charles; as well as brother, Russell (Sheila).
Les was born in Liverpool, Nova Scotia and at a young age, headed out west where he made Alberta his forever home. He was quick to find work ranching which he enjoyed very much until he took a job with the City of Medicine Hat where he stayed until his retirement in 2017. In his spare time, he enjoyed camping, fishing and being outdoors.
If you ask any of his friends or family, he will be most remembered by his witty unique and embarrassing sense of humor.

HENRY SCHLITT April 16, 1941 ~ December 12, 2024
Henry Charles Schlitt, age 83, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 12, 2024. He was the beloved husband of 63 years to Sharron Schlitt, devoted father to Rod and Deanna (Ken & Deanna Siemens), and a cherished grandfather. He had six siblings who were best friends their entire lives.
Born in 1941, Henry built a life founded on hard work, family, and faith. His journey began in Prince George, where he ran a dry-cleaning business before moving on to work as a steam and gas fitter in Fort St. James and Williams Lake. Throughout his career, Henry was known for his skill, dedication, and unwavering work ethic. He retired in 2006, but his passion for life and helping others never slowed.
In his golden years, Henry devoted his time to his family, friends, and giving back to his community. A true outdoorsman, his greatest loves were hunting and fishing, and his home was filled with photos and mounted trophies that told stories of countless adventures. Henry’s love of nature and his zest for life were only matched by his kindness and sense of humor, which left a lasting impression on all who met him.
Whether he was fixing vehicles with his grandchildren, volunteering at church, or assisting a neighbor in need, Henry was always ready to lend a hand. His selflessness and willingness to serve others will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Henry’s life was a testament to love, dedication, and service. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

WHITE 1938-2024 Normal Renae White, beloved wife of the late James Edward White, passed away at St. Joseph’s Home Carmel Hospice in Medicine Hat on Monday, December 9, 2024, at the age of 86 years. Norma was born on May 9, 1938, to parents, Angus Bright Gregory and Ruby Gregory of Lava Hot Springs, Idaho, and raised on a dairy farm there. She attended March Valley High School, graduating from there in 1956.
Norma married Ed on March 13, 1956, and lived adjacent to his family’s ranch in Chesterfield (Bancroft area) where they owned and operated a logging and sawmill business with Ed’s brother Jack and wife Denise. They lived in Gannet (Picabo), Idaho and Gooding, Idaho; eventually residing in Kimberly, Idaho. Norma and Ed moved to Bow Island in 1974, when Ed became general manager of the Bean Plant.
Normal is survived by a sister, Shirley Christensen of Pocatello, Idaho, as well as four sons; Rus (Linda) of Bow Island, Bryan (Sandy) of Hillsboro, Ohio, Verl (Tami) of Barnwell and Chris of Medicine Hat. She is also survived by 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren.
In honour of Norma’s wishes, her life will be honoured and her memory cherished without the proceedings of a formal funeral. Private interment will take place in Bow Island at a future date.

With great sadness, the family of Beverley (Bev) Drummond announces her passing on Wednesday, December 11, 2024, at her home in Medicine Hat, Alberta, surrounded by her children. She was 88 years old, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories.Beverley is survived by her six loving children, Pam Maitland (Scotland), Garth Drummond (Medicine Hat, AB), Valarie (Larry) Kalynchuk (Edmonton, AB), Kristine (Doug) Hood (Calgary, AB), Carrie (Don) Inman (Creston, BC), and Kate (Robert) Winquist (Kindersley, SK). Also mourning her loss are her thirteen grandchildren, Daniel (Jess) Maitland, Tim (Tamar) Maitland, Sam Maitland, Derek (Jennifer) Hollman, Amanda Kristine, Jason Hollman, Kirstie Hood, Adam Hood, Morgan Cooper, Joel Cooper, Devin Winquist, Kalen Winquist, and Jaidyn Winquist; as well as her seven great-grandchildren, Aria, Rafferty and Merryn Maitland, Cora Maitland, and Jovia, Henry, and Jonathan Hollman. She is additionally survived by her brother, Danny (Dorie) Maclennan; along with sisters-in-law, Louise Maclennan and Cathie Maclennan.Beverley was predeceased by her beloved husband, George Drummond, on November 30, 2010; her parents, Neil and Kay Maclennan; her brothers, Neil and Doug Maclennan; sisters-in-law, Judy Maclennan and Margaret Bews; and granddaughter, Emily Cooper.Born on August 9, 1936, in Calgary, Alberta, Beverley was the eldest (and only girl) of four children. Her childhood was spent in Gull Lake, Lebret, Mankota, and Glidden, where the raven-haired beauty first caught the eye of George Drummond whom she would marry on May 14, 1955, in Marengo, Saskatchewan. Together, they built a life on their farm near Glidden until retiring to Medicine Hat in 2002.Throughout her life, Bev faced significant challenges with grace and resilience, including a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 1969 that led to a loss of vision in one eye. Regardless, she remained an active and vibrant individual, becoming a Life Master in Duplicate Bridge and enjoying competition in tournaments across Saskatchewan, Alberta, and even the United States.Beverley was also involved in her community, sitting on the School Division Board for many years. Bev also was a member of the CWL and the Glidden Ladies Community Club. An avid reader, she had a particular fondness for mystery novels, boasting an extensive collection of Agatha Christie works, amongst others. Her passion for literature continued until her last days. Bev had a lifelong appreciation for music, including classical music and Dixieland Jazz. Bev was a member of the Carolettes in Kindersley for many years.Her green thumb blossomed through a passion for gardening and flowers. Early in her married life, she raised chickens and managed a vast vegetable garden, showcasing her skills as an accomplished cook and baker who even took lessons in Chinese cuisine.Her intelligence and sharp wit endeared her to many, whether solving complex logic problems or dominating at games like Trivial Pursuit. Bev had a strong faith and could recite many Bible verses or quotes from a particular author.Beverley had a love for sports, especially curling and cheering on the Saskatchewan Roughriders and Toronto Blue Jays. Alongside George, she shared a passion for researching and reselling antiques, particularly glassware.As we celebrate her life, we honour the profound legacy of love, resilience, and joy that Bev leaves behind. Her quick wit, spirit of adventure, and deep faith will be forever cherished by those fortunate enough to have known her. Bev will be profoundly missed but will continue to live on in the hearts of her family and friends.A Memorial Service will be held in the spring of 2025. ANNA LACHER 1936 – 2024 Anna Lacher passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2024, at the age of 88 years, beloved wife of John Lacher of Medicine Hat. She also leaves to cherish her memory five children Albert (Janice) Lacher, Anthony (Linda) Lacher, Theresa (Tom) Lacher-Lynch, Andrew (Paula) Lacher and Barbara (Dave) Schibler; her grandchildren and great grandchildren Melanie (James) Cochrane (Ella and Max), Laurie (Steve) Rausch (Gavin and Leah), Brad (Kim) Lacher (Barrett, Mickey, Margo), Michelle (Brent) McLean (Jaxson and Emmitt), Chris Lacher, Jamie (Keegan) Getz (Maleyah and Hayden), Adam (Bailey) Lacher (Koe), Jordan (Reina) Schibler (Hana), Austin (Morgan) Schibler. Anna was a member of a large family with ten sisters and two brothers as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Anna was born on April 2, 1936, at Fox Valley, Saskatchewan and was raised on the family farm at Fox Valley. She graduated from Teacher College in Moose Jaw and taught in a country school near Fox Valley until she married John in 1957. Together they farmed and in 1966, they moved to Medicine Hat but continued to farm, finally retiring in 2000. She spent her later years at home enjoying her garden, cooking and canning. Those who wish to pay their respects may do so at the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME on Sunday, December 22nd from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. or at the church on Monday one hour prior to the funeral mass.
