STANLEY STUBER

STANLEY STUBER 1945 – 2024 Stan passed away on Thursday June 7, 2024, at the age of 79 years. He is survived by his loving wife Beverley (nee Schacher), son Blair (Chamen), grandson Dean Dewalt, brothers Barrey Stuber (Linda), Wes Stuber (Carol), father-in-law Ken Schacher (Marie), mother-in-law Margaret Schacher, brother-in-law Jack Schacher (Lois), sister-in-law Dixie-Lee Egan (Francis), brother-in-law Darryl Schacher (Zoe) as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son Dean in 1988, parents Emil and Vivian Stuber, sister Shirley Dupmeier and brother-in-law Barry Schacher.
Stan was born on the way to Medicine Hat in a farmhouse in Rosebeg. He went to school in Manyberries; he did not like school so his dad said ” if you don’t want to go to school we will buy another farm”. He started farming at the age of 15. In 1965, he met Beverley Schacher and they were married in 1967. They resided south of Manyberries, in Comrey until 1987, when they moved just south of Medicine Hat.
Stan did contract work for A.G.T. before starting his own company “Stans Cattle and Hay Hauling. Stan was active in the rodeo circuit participating in team roping. He served as a director on the Medicine Hat Stampede Board from 1989 to 2006. Laughter, jokes and teasing were always abundant. The coffee pot was ALWAYS on, strangers and strays soon became friends. Bev never knew who Stan would have sitting in her kitchen (even the odd hitch hiker or someone just broke down on the road) when she got home.
To honour Stan’s request, there will be no funeral service. In Stan fashion …. Bev will keep the coffee hot! To leave a message of condolence you may visit http://www.pattisonfuneralhome.com.
