FRANK GODEC
It is with deep sadness we announce the passing of Frank Godec on June 7th, 2024 in Maribor, Slovenia.

Frank was truly one of a kind. Known for a great sense of humour and unwavering optimism. Even when facing significant health challenges in his later years, Frank enjoyed life and remained positive with his family and friends.
Frank immigrated to Canada in the late 1950’s and created a successful masonry business in Medicine Hat. He enjoyed his retirement in the Crowsnest Pass and Slovenia.
He leaves behind to mourn his passing his partner Danica Blasnik – Poljcane, Slovenia, daughter Maria Laidlaw and husband Duncan, grandchildren Callum and Mairi – Aberdeen, Scotland, daughter Michelle Godec – Calgary, AB, son Mark Godec and grandchildren Joseph and Charlie – Calgary, AB.
Frank’s funeral will take place in Slovenia with a small memorial at a later date in Canada.

ELIZABETH “BETTY” ANN MELBOURN July 18th, 1944 June 6th, 2024 Betty Melbourn passed away on June 6th, 2024, at the age of 79 years. She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Kenneth Melbourn; son, Kenny Melbourn; daughters, Wendy (Joe) Kenney, Michelle Meidinger, Joan (Randy) Simpson, Jean Greenwood and Joyce (John) Lynn; ten grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; brother, Alvin (Gail) Lanz; sister, Carol Ogilvie. Betty was predeceased by her parents, Jacob and Eva Lanz.
