CHRISTMAN Vi passed away peacefully with her family at her side, on March 16th, 2024 at the age of 95 years. Vi was born August 26th,1928 in Irvine, AB, the daughter of Martha and Karl Sulz. Mom spent her early years in Irvine, until the family moved to Medicine Hat, when she was sixteen. Vi met her husband, Albert, in 1946 and raised seven children, one daughter, and six sons together. They lived in Millicent for several years and then moved to Bassano, AB. Vi worked in the kitchen at the Bassano Hospital, Bassano Cake Board, and Bassano Honey Plant. Viola had a passion and love of gardening and baking. Vi was active with the Willing Workers and the Bassano Royal Purple for over 60 years. Mom had 56 years of perfect attendance and was a 60-year charter member. Viola leaves a trove of memories for her family, Betty Ann, Jerry (Cheryl), Larry (Gerri), daughter-in-law Lois and Doug (Kelly). Viola has 15 grandchildren, 25 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. Viola is also survived by her sister Anne Becker of Medicine Hat, Alberta and many nieces and nephews. Viola was predeceased by her husband Albert; sons, Brian, Randy and Dale; great-grandson Alex; son-in-law Rick Robson and her parents and four brothers. Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, April 24th at 2:00 PM from Knox Presbyterian Church, Bassano. Rev. Peter Baek officiating. Interment at Bassano Cemetery.

SHEILA HELEN CHURCH August 26th, 1954 April 11th, 2024
It is with pure sadness and heartbreak we announce the sudden passing of Sheila Church on Thursday April 11, 2024. Sheila was an incredibly generous, creative, loyal and loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and great friend to many.
Sheila is survived by her sons, Cam (Chrystal) Church, Cody (Kendra) Church; grandchildren, Hayes, Cooper, Chesney, Gracy, Stella and Maeve; mother, Margret Spicer; siblings, Holly (Jim) Morrison, Brian Spicer, Bev (Susan) Spicer, Kevin (Rose) Spicer, Brad Spicer; sister-in-law, Norma Church; as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
Sheila was predeceased by her husband, Rob Church; father, Barry Spicer; brother, Gary Spicer; brother-in-law, Lynn Church; father and mother-in-law, Bud and Mona Church.
Sheila was born August 26, 1954, in Berwick, Nova Scotia and raised on the family apple orchard where she grew up playing and working with her siblings, raising pet foxes, crows, raccoons and whatever else the Spicer kids could get their hands on. Creating a fearless nature and at the young age of 18, Sheila boarded a train and headed west “Looking for a Cowboy” (which is what she always told us). Not long after arriving in Medicine Hat, she found one……. Sheila married Rob Church in April of 1976 and the rest is history. Rob and Sheila resided briefly in Lethbridge where they met many lifelong friends. Returning back to the Hat residing in Ross Glen and out to the farm in 1988. Building a beautiful house and truly enjoying the country living with their horses and hosting the famous September long weekend parties, where a “Great Time Was Had By All”.
Sheila worked for the Hudson Bay Company, Safeway, Victim Assistance with Medicine Hat Police Service (earning a Civic Recognition Award in 1993), CORE and Home Care, retiring in 2019. Sheila enjoyed many activities, such as quilting, curling, skiing, gardening, paddle boating and helping out with the kids activities. Sheila attended and volunteered at countless hockey and school events both as mother and grandmother. She stayed in touch with her home care group taking part in monthly potlucks. Sheila baked and decorated hundreds of cakes throughout the years, for all kinds of events. Sheila was dedicated to her long time Stich N Bitch crew and “All In” for Christmas and holiday events. Sheila loved baking, decorating, cooking for whoever showed up at her door, which was always open with a bottle of wine on standby. Mom made it clear that everyone was welcome, but grandkids are preferred. Sheila will be greatly missed by her family, extended family, many people and lives she had touched over the years.
“Death leaves a heartache no one can heal. Love leaves a memory no one can steal.” A Celebration of life and a casual come and go will be held at the Seven Persons Community Hall, Monday, May 20th, 2024, from 1pm to 4pm. CAROLINE RUTH “LOUISE”LEMIRE 1941 ~ 2024 Louise Lemire of Medicine Hat, passed away on Saturday, April 6th, 2024 at the age of 82 years. Caroline leaves to cherish her memory her children, Rick Crandlemire and Mary (Brett) Dillman; grandchildren, Brandon Crandlemire, Dustin Crandlemire, Melissa (Gavin) Coburn-Lamire and Monica MacVicar; and great grandchild, Cheryl. Caroline was predeceased by her parents and her husband, Ralph Lemire. Louise was a very happy person and was always laughing. She enjoyed arts and crafts, bingo, shopping trips to the mall and spending time with family and friends. In her younger years, she played in a band and enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. Louise will be missed and forever remembered. EMIL SIEGLE

1927 ~ EMIL SIEGLE ~ 2024 Emil Siegle, a devout man of Christian faith, lived a blessed life rooted in love and humility. Born in Hatton, Saskatchewan, he found joy in farming and married Millie in 1955, sharing their devotion to God. Retirement led them to Maple Creek, where Emil’s passion for gardening flourished, a testament to God’s grace.
In Medicine Hat, Emil’s faith remained steadfast, despite the loss of his son, Calvin, in 2021. His children, Calvin, Lorraine, and Judy, and their families brought him immense joy, reflecting God’s blessings.
Throughout his life, Emil embodied kindness, gentleness, and devotion to serving the Lord, leaving a legacy that continues to inspire faith and love in all who knew him.
The Funeral Service will be held at Hillcrest Evangelical Missionary Church 3785 – 13th Avenue SE Medicine Hat, AB T1B 1J2, on Wednesday, April 17th, 2024, at 2:00 pm with Rev. Don Richmond officiating.

Mrs. Irene Koch (Riffel) of Medicine Hat, beloved wife of the late Raymond Koch, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Thursday, April 11, 2024, at the age of 86 years. Irene was born on October 17, 1937, in Prelate, Saskatchewan. She married her beloved Raymond on June 7, 1954, in Fox Valley, Saskatchewan where they farmed in the area and were business owners. They retired to Medicine Hat in 1983. Irene was very strong in her faith and Blessed Virgin Mary was very special in her life. She enjoyed cooking, baking, canning, playing cards, crafts, and singing. She loved her family dearly and cherished her visits with friends.
Family and friends will gather for prayers in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Tuesday evening at 7:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be celebrated at HOLY FAMILY PARISH (1451 Strachan Road SE) on Wednesday April 17, 2024, at 11:30 a.m. with Fr.
