DANIEL ARON CHOMISTEK

DANIEL ARON CHOMISTEK July 15th, 1961 – January 21st, 2024 Brother, adventurer and true spirit.
Born July 15th, 1961, in the Brooks hospital in Alberta. He was a twin to brother, Patrick Chomistek and they were the first twins born in the Scandia district.
He is survived by parents, Emil and Angela Chomistek; sister, Kathy (Dave) Lewis and brother, Guy (Shelly) Chomistek.
Dan was a relentless and outspoken pursuer of truth and knowledge. He spoke his mind openly and honestly. Dan was multi-talented. He was an excellent cowboy, top marksman and ran a successful large ranching business with his parents and brother, Patrick for over 20 years.
He was also the main mechanic of the operation with a college degree in mechanics and he also pursued a career in rodeo.
After deciding to take a break from ranching, he set off sailing around the world. He sailed to and saw many destinations, saved the boat and crew one stormy night from certain destruction while pursuing his writing and script projects. One of his stories was published in a sailing magazine and several times when he entered a North American writing contest with over 20,000 applicants. He finished easily in the top 20.
Dan had a zeal for God and practised his Catholic faith to the end, even refusing the suicide pill despite the intense pain.
He will always be remembered as big hearted, a prankster and a soul that was absolutely true to himself.
Dan will be very, very sorrowfully missed.
The Funeral Mass will be held at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church on Wednesday, February 21st, 2024, at 2:00pm with Father Vincent celebrant.
