DONNA DRADER 1961 – 2023 It is with heavy hearts that the family of Donna Rae Drader, beloved wife of Cliff Drader announce her peaceful passing on Thursday, November 23, 2023 at the age of 62 years, with her family by her side.

Along with Cliff, her husband of forty three years, left to cherish Donna’s memory are her three children Carmen Drader (Cory Miller) of Taber and their children Chale, Ryker and Tenli; Kendall Drader of Bow Island and her children Domanick, Creedon, Kane and Blade; and Dennis Drader of Bow Island. She is also survived by her parents Gordon (Lorraine) Lane and Audrey (David) White; siblings Terry Lane, Natalie (Dale) Thacker, Robin (Sheila) Lane, Darcy (Lana) Lane; sister-in-law Gail (Lee) Lane as well as numerous in-laws, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her brother Dennis Lane, sister-in-law Debby Lane, father-in-law Clifford “Skip” Drader, mother-in-law Grace Drader, sister-in-law Trina Drader, nephew Darcy Grandmont and niece Jacquie Grandmont.
Donna was born in Lethbridge on April 2, 1961 to Gordon and Audrey Lane. She met Cliff, and they were married on February 21, 1981. Together they welcomed Carmen, Kendall and Dennis to complete their family. Donna’s children and grandchildren were her everything.
Growing up on the farm, Donna was the fourth of the six Lane kids, and saw her fair share of farm work along the way. However, when Donna attended Senator Gershaw School in Bow Island, she developed a passion for playing sports, particularly basketball and slo-pitch. She spent a lot of time playing with friends throughout her school years, and then some rec tournaments into her adult years.
Donna dedicated herself to a career at ATB financial, spending over thirty five years with the bank. In her spare time, Donna also enjoyed camping with family, canoeing down the South Saskatchewan River on a warm sunny day and relaxing at home with the grandkids. She was always up for a game of cards, and when she was the winner those score sheets were saved forever for those constant bragging rights. In recent years, Donna found a hidden talent within herself, in painting. She enjoyed the time to be creative and could often be found joining an evening group paint class, to create some original pieces of her own.
Donna and Cliff were fortunate to be able to travel frequently with her family. Audrey and David, along with all her siblings were able to travel to Hawaii, take a Mediterranean Cruise, see Cuba and relax on the shores of Vancouver Island together. These were great experiences to have together, and memories to cherish. Donna had a bright smile and a laugh that could only be recognized as her own, as well, her usual “Donna antics” that would always add some spice to everything she was a part of.
If friends so desire, memorial tributes in Donna’s name may be made directly to the Ronald McDonald House Charities, 111 West Campus Place NW, Calgary, Alberta T3B 2R6 (www.rmhcalberta.org) or to HALO Air Ambulance, 12 – 1 Airport Drive SW, Medicine Hat, Alberta, T1A 5G4 (www.haloairambulance.com).
