Marcia Elizabeth Hauser (nee Hartie), beloved wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully in Medicine Hat while surrounded by her husband, children, grandchildren, and loved ones on Monday, December 4, 2023, at the age of 83. She was predeceased by her parents, Margaret and Heber Hartie and her sister, Irene Burwash. She is mourned by her husband of 59 years, E. Lorne Hauser; daughter, Angela Hauser and wife Jessica; son, David Hauser and wife Lisa; daughter, Pamela Hauser; son, Benjamin Hauser and fiance Bogdana as well as grandchildren, Liam, Maxwell, Katherine, Raphael, and Emily. She leaves behind a legacy of love, strength, and cherished memories. Marcia was born in Ocean Falls, British Columbia on July 7, 1940. After she graduated, Marcia worked in several hospitals in Ontario and New Brunswick. In 1976, she and Lorne moved their family to Alberta where they had purchased the Hauser family farm in Hilda, Alberta. Over the next 4 years, Marcia worked as a public health nurse in Medicine Hat while Lorne worked to build a new house on the farm for the family to move into. When the family moved out to the farm in 1980, it was the culmination of one of Marcia’s greatest childhood wishes as she had dreamed of living on a farm since she was a child. In the years following, Marcia worked as a kindergarten teacher at New Hilda School, as an education assistant at the Rose Glen Hutterite Colony and was dedicated to the care and operations of the Hilda Lutheran Church. In addition to her professional career, Marcia was a dedicated homemaker, wife, and mother. She raised four children and was an avid farmer, gardener, and cake decorator. Marcia was known for her kind heart, warm smile, and infectious laughter. She had a passion for teaching, nursing, the church and creating a welcoming home on the farm for her loved ones. Her love and care extended beyond her immediate family, touching the lives of all who knew her. Marcia’s memory will forever live on in the hearts of her husband, children, grandchildren, and all those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be remembered for her unwavering love, selflessness and the joy she brought to the lives of others. May Marcia rest in eternal peace, knowing she was deeply loved and will be forever missed. The family would like to extend a huge and heartfelt thank you to the staff of AgeCare Riverview.
