NORMAN CHRISTIANSEN

NORMAN CHRISTIANSEN October 31, 1942 – October 24, 2023 It is with profound sadness, that we announce, that Norman Christiansen, loving husband, father, grandfather, and great grandfather; passed away suddenly, on October 24, 2023 at the age of 80.
Norm was born in Cabri, Saskatchewan on October 31, 1942, to Tom and Hilda Christiansen. He was the youngest of four boys, Carl, Tom and Glenn. He married Linda on Mar 12, 1977, and adopted her two children, Leah and Russell, and raised them as his own, as a very loving and dedicated father. He worked with his brothers, at Christiansen Brothers Concrete, for many years and when the time came to make a change, he worked as a custodian for the Maple Creek School District.
Dad was a “gentle giant”. Dad loved people and they loved him. He was a fixture in the Maple Creek Community, hockey coach, town counsellor, volunteer fire fighter, Lion’s Club member and continually involved in the community. You could always count on seeing him driving around with his dog “Biscuit” visiting with everyone and having coffee. He enjoyed being arounds the youth of the community, thus the reason for working in the schools, as a custodian.
Linda’s career took them Medicine Hat in 1991, and Norm was unsure about the “city life” but quickly became part of the community and went to work for Medicine Hat Public School District as a Lead Custodian, until he retired.
Norm will be missed by all that knew him he always had time for people. He will be missed deeply by children he was a wonderful and loving Father and incredible role model.
Norm is survived by his wife, Linda, two children, Leah (Bob), Russell (Stephanie), grandchildren, Sarah, Nick, Taylor (Andrea) and two great grandsons, Gray and Noah, Brother Carl, nephews, Terry, Tom, Danny, and niece Lee-Ann.
