Dianna Cook, beloved wife of the late Ivan Cook, passed away on Monday, July 31st at the age of 82 years. She is survived by three sons, Jim Cook, Neal (Sharon) Cook and Chris (Laurie) Cook; two grandchildren, Dawson (Megan) Cook and Dana (Cameron) Stock; as well as one great grandson, Rhett Cook and one on the way.

JOYCE ANDERSEN 1936 ~ 2023
Joyce June Andersen of Medicine Hat passed away peacefully on Monday, July 31, 2023 at the age of 87 years, beloved wife of the late Martin Andersen. She leaves to cherish her memory four daughters, Debra (Denver) Clark, Sherri (Terry) Andersen, Kim (Travis) Hamilton, and Melissa (Raymond) King; grandchildren, Nerissa, Harley, Kristoff, Tiffany, Michael, Nicole, Connor, Taylor, Katherine; and three great grandchildren, Brody, Beth, and Kasey. Besides her loving husband Martin Andersen, Joyce was predeceased by her parents, Edith Frig and John Stanke, and one sister Jackie Packard. Joyce was born on June 30, 1936 in Medicine Hat, Alberta. She married Martin on August 31, 1963 in her hometown. Together they raised four daughters. Joyce maintained the home while Martin farmed their land south of Seven Persons. Even though she seldom ventured out, Joyce kept in close contact with many friends and family. Her sound advice and loyalty created many life long friends. Martin passed away in 2015 and despite her being blind since the age of fourteen, Joyce continued to live independently until being hospitalized in June of 2023. She passed away peacefully from natural causes surrounded by family. The funeral service will be held in the PATTISON FUNERAL HOME & CELEBRATION OF LIFE CENTRE on Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. with Life Celebrant, David Townsend officiating. LESLIE ZELLER 1959 ~ 2023
It is with an incredibly sad heart that we announce the passing of Leslie “Les” Wayne Zeller who left us on Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at the age of 63. Les will be forever loved by his beloved wife Melody Zeller, his two daughters, Marnie Zeller (Spencer Weselosky) and Taylor Zeller (Justin Just); his father, Harry Zeller; his sister, Brenda (Leroy) Friesen; his brother, Barry Zeller; his brothers and sisters-in-law, Wayne (Janice) Nybo, Linda (Harold) Gates, and Lance (Dianne) Nybo, as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Les was predeceased by his mother, Eleanor Zeller; his son, Logan Zeller in infancy, and his parents-in-law Basil and Hazel Nybo.
Les was born in Calgary and grew up in Medicine Hat. He attended Medicine Hat High School where he played volleyball and coached Little League baseball. After high school, Les worked as a parts man which became his lifetime career. He had a passion for the automotive industry and enjoyed his coworkers and talking with everyone who came into the store. He also loved animals, especially birds and wiener dogs. Les met the love of his life Melody in 1988 and was married in 1992. Their marriage was a beautiful example of love and partnership. Les spent the rest of his life in Medicine Hat and raised his beautiful family here. He adored his two girls and loved to talk about how proud he was of them. Les was a devoted and loving father who taught his girls the value of hard work. Les had a passion for travel and created many memories on family trips to Hawaii, Dominican Republic, Caribbean cruises and more.
Throughout his life, Les was active in many sports like baseball, curling, golf, skiing and in recent years e-biking. Les also loved softball and played in the Medicine Hat Men’s Senior Slowpitch League. Les was an incredible man. His sense of humour, laugh and kindness brightened the lives of all who knew him. He was a committed friend and always made an effort to stay in contact even with long distance friends. As his friend recently said “He was a one in a million kind of guy”. Les will be deeply missed and forever loved by so many.
Even though Les was not of the Latter-day Saints faith, he has lots of friends that are. In celebration of their friendship we will be holding Les’ funeral at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (7 Saamis Rotary Way S.W) on Monday, August 7, 2023 at 1 p.m. with Life Celebrant Pat Grisonich officiating. Interment will take place at a later date. We invite anybody from the Medicine Hat Men’s Senior Slow Pitch League to wear their softball jerseys to the funeral. Master Ryder Kenneth Mason of Medicine Hat beloved son of James Mason (Kandace Dolph), Aimie Hanes (Dwayne Tyson) passed away suddenly on Thursday, July 27, 2023 at the age of six years. He also leaves to cherish his memory his brothers and sisters, Delilah Hanes, Joshua Anderson, Skylar Anderson, Madison Anderson, Alex Mason, Alyssa Mason, Max Hanes, Jeremiah Dolph, Jasper Dolph, Kaidence Tyson and Lyndon Tyson; his Grandparents, Robert Goldstone, Karel Aldred – Mason, Kenneth Mason and Tannis Dolph; his Uncles and Aunts, Katie Moore, Crystal Moore, Brendon Mason (Faith May) and their fur babies, Erin Mason (Colton), Emma Lloyd, Kyle Dolph (Crystal Dutton) Kevin Dolph (Kaitlyn Geisbrecht) and Graeme Duhamel. Ryder was a happy energetic boy, whenever someone was sad or alone he would come up and be the first one there. If he had his Jaguar with him he would let you borrow it to feel better. Ryder had an eye for detail in his drawings, he saw the world for its beauty. He will be deeply missed by all the people he has touched. ANGELINA PARDI

1939 ~ ANGELINA PARDI ~ 2023

Angelina “Angie” Pardi passed away peacefully on July 28, 2023 at the age of 84 years, undoubtedly to be with her beloved Nick. She was predeceased by her parents, Pasquale and Carmella; husband, Nicola; and by her sister, Nina. She is remembered fondly by her children, Annette (Paul), Sandi (Rob), and Frank (Lorinda) and will be dearly missed by her grandchildren, Meghan (Brycen), Kaelyn and her three bonus grandchildren, Tristian (Peyton), Trevor, and Tanner (Madison). She is also survived by her brother, Pino and his children, Carmelina (Dwight) and Pat (Penny); nephews, Joe (Joyce), Rick (Laura); niece, Mary; in addition to cousins both in Canada and Italy. Angie was born in Miglierina, Italy. The youngest of three, she was often tasked with housework duties after her sister moved to Canada. She had to walk three miles to take care of her grandmother every single day, and her grandmother would also put her to work. With daily tasks of cooking and cleaning and sewing, she feared that that would be her life. In 1963, she moved to be with her siblings in Winnipeg, a thirty-day arduous journey by ship and the last time she was ever in a boat. She met Nick and they married in 1965. Together, they worked hard supporting family overseas and raising their own. In 1976, the family moved to Medicine Hat where she often said her life finally began. She worked outside the home doing mostly kitchen work, got a driver’s license, joined her church, made friends and joined various groups. She said many times she could not imagine the life she would have had if she hadn’t come to Canada, and Medicine Hat specifically. An amazing cook, she could plan and make meals that could feed a small army. Together with Nick, they harvested a garden that would feed the family for a year lettuce, cucumbers, peas, beans (so many beans!) fresh herbs and jars and jars of tomato sauce, all lovingly prepared from the garden tomatoes. The family especially loved her lasagna, her 13 dishes for Christmas Eve, and her homemade bread and pizza. The consummate host, she made room at the table for anyone who wanted to join. The kids, grandkids, neighbors and friends were always invited. She fed many people over the years. When she was not in the kitchen, she enjoyed traveling with Nick. They drove thousands of miles and saw Canada and the US from the windows of their Dodges. They took the family to Italy to visit grandparents and other family and Angie even went to Japan solo to visit her daughter, Sandi. Angie loved family, God and her community. She was a wonderful mother, grandmother, neighbor and friend. Although she was affected with dementia, she never forgot her family or friends. She was a long-standing member of the CWL at St. Patrick’s Church, through which she volunteered her time to worthy causes. She supported the Canadian Downs Syndrome Society, the CNIB, and donated countless pints of blood through the blood donor clinics. Her acts of service have impacted many. Angie’s family wishes to thank the health care workers and the staff at River Ridge for the care she received. A special thanks goes to Maria D’Amico, who listened to God that day when she decided to visit on a day that she hadn’t planned to go, in order to share in Mom’s last moments. Vigil Rites (Prayers) will be held at Saamis Memorial Funeral Chapel, 1 Dunmore Road SE, Medicine Hat, AB on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 at 7:00 pm. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Patrick’s Roman Catholic Church 238 – 2nd Avenue NE MEDICINE HAT, AB T1A 5Z9, on Thursday, August 10th, 2023, at 11:00 am with Father Roque Pereira, Celebrant. If unable to attend the service, family and friends are welcome to participate via livestream by logging on to http://www.saamis.com and joining the live webcast on Angelina’s memorial page at the above date and time.
